Pissa Box Just Dropped a New Contactless Delivery Locker Option
Pissa Box has introduced a new contactless delivery locker option at select apartment complexes and office buildings, giving customers a secure, temperature-controlled pickup point as an alternative to standard door delivery.
How the Locker System Works
Partnered buildings install a bank of insulated, temperature-controlled lockers near the entrance or lobby. When a Pissa Box order is placed with locker delivery selected, the driver places the packaged order into an available locker and the customer receives a unique code to unlock it. The lockers maintain internal temperature control, extending the benefits of Pissa Box's insulated packaging even after the driver has completed the drop-off.
Why Pissa Box Built This
According to the company, the locker option addresses a specific gap in delivery reliability: missed doorstep deliveries in buildings with restricted entry, situations where a driver cannot reach an apartment door directly and previously had to rely on lobby drop-off or coordinating building access in real time. The temperature-controlled locker solves both the access problem and the quality problem at once, since a standard lobby drop-off has no way to maintain the packaging's heat retention the way the lockers do.
Where It's Available
The locker system launches first in a set of partnered apartment complexes and office buildings in Pissa Box's core delivery markets, with the company working directly with property management companies to install the required locker hardware. Availability is building-specific, and the Pissa Box app indicates whether a delivery address has locker pickup available before a customer selects it as a delivery option.
How Customers Use It
At checkout, eligible addresses see a locker delivery option alongside standard door delivery. Customers who select it receive a notification once their order has been placed in an available locker, along with the access code needed for pickup. The temperature-controlled design means there is no urgency to retrieve the order the instant it arrives, addressing a common complaint about standard delivery where food quality degrades if a customer isn't home the moment the driver arrives.
Why This Matters for Delivery Quality
Pissa Box has built its brand around delivery packaging quality, and the locker system extends that same philosophy to the final, often overlooked stage of delivery, the gap between when a driver drops off an order and when a customer actually picks it up. Standard doorstep delivery has no way to protect food quality during that gap; the temperature-controlled lockers do.
What's Next
The company says it plans to expand locker partnerships to additional buildings based on demand and property management interest, with a particular focus on high-density buildings where doorstep delivery access has historically been the most difficult part of the delivery process to manage reliably.
